Four people were rescued near Eagle Mountain Park on Saturday afternoon after a broken gondola lift left them at the bottom of a cliff.

Emergency personnel received a call around 12:05 p.m. about a traumatic injury involving four people in unincorporated Tarrant County, according to NBC 5.

When police and firefighters arrived at the scene, they found those people suffering from severe injuries on a cliff.

Investigators said the victims of the crash were on a trolley ride when a cable broke, causing all the victims to fall off the trolley, plummeting 25 to 30 feet down on an area strewn with rocks and cactus.

One person was critically injured and had to be air-flown to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. The other three victims were taken to the same hospital by paramedics, and they are suffering from serious injuries.

The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office has launched an official investigation.
