The timing couldn't be better for the 8th annual Frisco College Baseball Classic at Riders Field in Frisco. The three-day classic features Arizona, Indiana, Alabama, and local favorite, #18 Dallas Baptist.
"They cracked the top 25, and they've just built a heck of a program there," Ryan Holloway, co-founder of Peak Events says. "It's fun to have a really good team like the Patriots in our field and then a really good local team as well."
Alongside the impressive lineup of teams, the perfect weekend weather is adding to the draw of the event.
"You've got some really good baseball with four really, really good teams, and the weather...it's gonna be excellent," Holloway noted,
What's more, the tournament is not only a celebration of sports but also contributes to a meaningful cause. The Frisco College Baseball Classic donates its proceeds to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of North Texas.
"My niece, Avery, who actually just turned 16 about a month ago has CF. When we started this tournament back in 2017, we knew that we had a really good platform to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation," Holloway added.
"Since we've started this thing in 2017, we've raised over $250,000 to go towards the foundation."
