Crews of Frisco firefighters are now in Victoria, between Houston and Corpus Christi, waiting to be assigned where needed in Texas zones that are flooding because of this week's torrential rains.
Officials say the crews will remain on standby in the area for flash flooding and the high potential of evacuations.
Heavy flooding afflicted Fannett, east of Houston, where more than 17 inches of rain have fallen this week.
The deluges also included more than six inches in Cedar Bayou in Harris County and eleven inches in Victoria.
The Frisco firefighters could be deployed for up to ten days.
