A 67-year-old Frisco man, Billy Bob Dunfield, was sentenced to 70 years in prison on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, ensuring he will spend the remainder of his life behind bars for the continuous sexual abuse of two children over a seven-year period. The sentence, delivered by a Collin County jury, carries no possibility of parole.

The Collin County District Attorney's Office announced the conviction and sentencing. Dunfield was found guilty of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child and Indecency with a Child involving two separate victims. The abuse began when one of the children was merely five years old.

Prosecutors revealed that Dunfield, a previously convicted sex offender, deliberately concealed his criminal past from the victims' guardians to gain access to the children. He had a 2005 federal conviction for possession of child pornography and was a registered sex offender for life. Despite this, he falsely claimed to the families that he had been wrongly convicted.

The investigation, led by the Frisco Police Department, uncovered a pattern of manipulation. Dunfield would persuade the children to remove their clothing under the guise of giving them "massages," then proceed to commit repeated acts of sexual abuse. The abuse came to light when the mother of one victim discovered incriminating text messages her child had sent to a friend.

During the trial, a third victim also testified to suffering similar abuse at Dunfield's hands. Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Dunfield's residence, where they discovered a massage table, oils, and other physical evidence that corroborated the victims' harrowing accounts. The children provided forensic interviews at the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center, detailing the graphic nature of the abuse.

Judge Lena Levario presided over the case. The jury ultimately delivered the maximum sentence allowable for the charges.

The 70-year sentence without parole means Dunfield will not have the opportunity to be released from prison.
