Jim Dale Mustain, 64, former pastor at Preston Trail Community Church in Frisco, Texas, has been arrested in North Carolina and extradited to Denton County on multiple child pornography charges. He faces four counts of possession or promotion of lewd visual material depicting a child.
Mustain was apprehended in North Carolina and transported to Denton County, where he was booked into jail on May 14. The charges stem from an investigation by the Denton County Sheriff's Office, which uncovered evidence of child pornography in his possession.
In addition to his pastoral role, Mustain founded Loving Community, a Denton County-based nonprofit aimed at fostering community relationships. He also served as a Hub Director for Forge Dallas, an organization focused on church leadership development.
Preston Trail Community Church has removed videos featuring Mustain from its platforms, including one in which he discussed his struggles with pornography addiction.
Mustain's arrest has sent shockwaves through the local community, where he was a prominent religious figure. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details at this time.
