Frisco police have arrested the former wife of a murder victim in a 2002 cold case.
Frisco teamed up with the Waxahachie Police Department to arrest 55-year-old Lisa Honrud in Waxahachie.
She is charged with murder of Frank Weiss who was found dead near Lewisville Lake in the Frisco city limits. The two were marred at that time.
"For 24 years, the Weiss family has waited for answers," Frisco Police Chief David Shilson said. "Today's arrest is an important step toward justice, and we will continue working until everyone involved is held accountable."
Investigators are crediting advancements in technology and investigative techniques as well as new information from a key witness.
