Funeral arrangements for the former head of the Dallas Police Department have been set.

Former Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle died last week after a lenghty battle with Lewy body dementia. He was 72-years-old.

The former chief will be honored with a funeral service at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, located near the Northpark Mall, on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m.

Dallas police say seating will be limited but the service will be livestreamed.

There will also be a police procession before the service that will travel from Uptown Dallas, north on the Dallas North Tollway, and then east on Northwest Hwy to the funeral home.

Kunkle not only led the Dallas Police Department from 2004-2010. He also held the position of Chief of Police in Grand Prairie and Arlington.
