The funeral for DPS trooper Chad Walker will be held today.
Walker was fatally shot near Mexia last month. He began his law enforcement career in Groesbeck and that's where his funeral is scheduled this morning.
The 10 a.m. service will in the football stadium of Groesbeck High School.
Walker was shot multiple times while trying to help a driver near Mexia on March 26th. He died five days later at a Waco hospital.
The killer committed suicide as police closed in on him.
