The Fort Worth ISD holds a massive hiring fair Saturday.
The district's Career Advancement Mega Fair will be held from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at its Teaching and Learning Center, 1050 Bridgewood Dr.
"It's really an advancement fair for any current employee, and then also on-the-spot hiring for any new employee," says Dr. Raúl Peña, chief talent management officer for the Fort Worth ISD.
For prospective employees, district officials will offer jobs on-the spot to qualified applicants, including generous hiring bonuses.
Current employees will also have an opportunity to discuss career advancement.
"We're going to have over 11 universities that are present with their counselors, ready to support our current staff," says Dr. Peña.
Current employees seeking to earn a Texas alternative teacher certification will be offered a $1,000 discount.
"We want to provide them with an opportunity to just continue to grow, continue to advance their degree here with us in Fort Worth ISD," Dr. Peña says, "and also provide those opportunities for any new employees coming in."
The Paschal High School Jazz Band will be on hand entertaining attendees.
