The City of Garland held an online ceremony to light the city's Christmas Tree Thursday night.
Garland Mayor Scott LeMay and several members of the City Council flipped the switch to illuminate the lights. The ceremony was followed by an online performance by pianist Bobby Orozco of Garland featuring holiday music.
City officials are urging residents to visit the downtown square and take pictures of the tree on State Street.
The tree and other downtown holiday decorations will remain in place through January 1st. The lights will be activated at 5:00pm each evening through 11:00pm.
