The Garland City Council has approved promoting one of the Assistant City Managers to the city's top job.
Officials with the City of Garland say Judson Rex will take over as City Manager when outgoing City Manager Emeritus Bryan Bradford retires on May 1st.
Rex has been with the City of Garland since 2021 and served as the Assistant City Manager for Planning and Economic Development. Before that, he was the City Manager for Dension, Texas.
"With our many bond projects and community initiatives, we have achieved so much in the past few years. Jud has been an integral part of that growth since he arrived here and I know he can direct our organization to that next, important level," said Garland Mayor Scott LeMay.
