Gas leak reported in downtown Fort Worth led to no issues after investigation

The Fort Worth Fire Department found no issues with the gas leak that happened midday Friday.

Crews headed towards the intersection of East 7th Street and Commerce in downtown Fort Worth. They monitored air quality surrounding business to see any damages was made.

Due to the strong winds, the gas vapors were spreading around the area more than normal. Atmos Energy had a crew fixing a ruptured gas main near the area, causing the smell of gas.

Fort Worth Police say that there is no immediate threat to the area.
