Gateway Church in Southlake has removed four of its elders following an investigation by an outside law firm into sexual abuse allegations against the church’s founder, Robert Morris.
Morris acknowledged inappropriate behavior in the 1980s, though he did not admit to the abuse allegations brought by Cindy Clemishire, who accused him of abuse during that time.
According to a statement from the church, the investigation found that some of the elders either knew of the incident or did not adequately investigate it, which led to their dismissal. The church is reportedly cooperating with an ongoing criminal investigation into the matter
