Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) was in Jacksboro Tuesday, surveying the damage from Monday's EF-3 tornado.
After a first-hand look in Jacksboro, Governor Abbott signed a disaster declaration for Jack and 15 other counties in the state affected by the storm.
Jacksboro, about 60 miles northwest of Fort Worth, suffered significant damage to parts of Jacksboro High School, and Jacksboro Elementary School. No one however was injured at either campus.
Four people had to be rescued from a damaged home but were not seriously hurt.
Governor Abbott says about 80 homes suffered some sort of damage, and debris removal will be a top priority in the next few days.
He says the fact that no one lost their life is a miracle.
The National Weather Service had confirmed ten tornadoes across North Texas as of Tuesday afternoon.
City leaders say the plan as of today is to resume school at the middle and high school on Monday.
