Ahead of heavy rain expected throughout much of Texas, Governor Greg Abbott has activated emergency resources.
The various departments and agencies involved include Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, Texas National Guard, the Division of Emergency Management, Parks and Wildlife, as well as the Department of Public Safety.
"Texas stands ready to deploy all emergency resources needed to help local communities across the state prepare and respond to severe weather," Governor Abbott said in a statement.
Flash flooding is the biggest threat followed by possible damaging winds as well as large hail and even tornadoes.
