A Granbury middle school principal has sent a letter home to parents addressing concerns about racist slurs and harassment of students by other students.

Reports say the letter in the name of Acton Middle School Principal Jennifer Pennington says, "I wanted to bring to your attention that we have had several instances of student harassment here at AMS. Unfortunately, students are using inappropriate language and racial slurs to address one another."

Further, she writes: "Our expectations are that students will treat each other in a respectful manner."

The letter was embedded in a tweet from Adrienne Quinn Martin, the Democratic Chair of Hood County, who writes: "Parents have been begging the schools to stop racial abuse in GISD all year long. Today one of the schools finally acknowledged there is a problem."
