Some people in Hood County are desperate for help insisting noise from a massive bitcoin farm is ruining their lives.

The sound of the Marathon Bitcoin Farm in Granbury is loud and constant, and resident Charly Shadden tells NBC 5 it sounds like she lives next to an airport runway with jets taking off constantly.

Local activists have filed numerous complaints but police have been unable to issue noise citations due to the levels not exceeding 85 decibels. For example, a hair dryer, blender, power lawn mower, forklift, or subway train emit constant sounds at around 85 decibels.

Marathon Digital Holdings, the owners of the Granbury facility, says that they recently took ownership of the site but weren't aware of the noise issues, but are working to address the situation. They say they are working with a 3rd party that will conduct a sound study.

Members of the community are counting on a change to remedy their headaches, lack of sleep, and overall quality of life.
