A Granbury school board member has a lot of explaining to do after getting caught sneaking into a school library.

The incident happened on August 2nd when Granbury school trustee Karen Lowery and another unnamed woman were caught in a restricted part of Granbury High school's library.

According to the Daily Beast the two turned off the motion detecting lights and used a flashlight to rifle through the books.

Lowery reportedly told the Assistant Prinicpal who caught them she was sent by the Superintendent.

Lowery was elected to the board in November and has been a leading voice calling for banning some books. In May of 2022 she filed a criminal complaint against the Granbudy school district over books she thinks are obscene, books that deal with sexuality and LGBTQ topics.

The district hired someone to investigate the library incident and the board is expected to get an update on that investigation during a special meeting Wednesday.
