Local business leaders in Grand Prairie met Wednesday with North Texas organizers for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Brian Bondy says they are planning for a massive number of tourists given their proximity to neighboring Arlington and Grand Prairie's attractions.
"Their Visitor's Bureau in Grand Prairie has done a phenomenal job in laying out what all people can do when there are not matches going on," Bondy said.
Bondy says this is a once in a lifetime vendor opportunity for local businesses.
"It's going to be very large for not just the restaurants, but I mean for gas stations and grocery stores," Bondy said. "It will trickle down to just about all different parts of the economy."
Regardless, Bondy says they anticipate hotels and restaurants will be packed not only for their attractions but also their proximity to AT&T Stadium.
