Grand Prairie police officer resigns after arrest on aggravated assault charge

A Grand Prairie police officer has given up his badge a few weeks after being arrested in Dallas and accused of pulling a pistol on a ride share driver in Deep Ellum.

Matthew Huber is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Last month, a ride share driver reported that he had picked up Huber outside a Deep Ellum bar. The driver said that on the ride to his destination, Huber became angry and aimed a pistol at his head.

Bailing out of the car, the driver flagged down a police officer who chased Huber down and arrested him, reporting that Huber's eyes were bloodshot and he had alcohol on his breath.
