Two years after a Grand Prairie plastics factory fire that burned for almost 24 hours, nearly 40 residents are suing Poly-America for nearly $8 million, which works out to about $200,000 per person.

The lawsuit claims the fire caused, "a significant amount of toxic fumes."

Furthermore, the lawsuit says residents "unwillingly inhaled" the toxic fumes for hours after the explosion, and claims Poly-America was negligent in failing to take steps to protect the area from the pollution.

In June the Grand Prairie City Council agreed to accept a $200,000 settlement from Poly-America in partial repayment of the city's costs in fighting the fire.
