Grocery stores ran low on supply and gas stations have been running out of fuel as a result of this week's winter storm. Because travel was limited on highways in Texas, trucks have not been able to deliver shipments.
"It's horrible, just going to all the different stores. All the shelves are empty," one man said after he found out he could not fill up at a gas station in Fort Worth.
Another man said he had already filled up. He said he was hoping to find a cup of coffee, but the store did not have any.
"I was at a gas station in the middle of the week, and they had run out," he said. "But I found some gas the next day, so spotty shortages of things. In this weather, I expect anything. Nothing surprises me."
San Antonio-based HEB says hours have been modified at some locations, and purchase limits are in place for some items. Details are available here.
Kroger, Albertson's and Tom Thumb say supplies should improve this weekend, and most stores should have a normal supply by next week.
Wal-Mart had closed hundreds of stores this week. By Friday, about 200 stores were closed. Wal-Mart has a list here.
