The annual Medal of Honor ceremony is scheduled for Thursday afternoon at North Central Texas College in Gainesville.
The highlight of this year's event will be the ground-breaking for the new $5 million Medal of Honor Museum on the NCTC campus. Construction is due to start this year.
The annual trip of Medal of Honor Recipients left DFW Airport Wednesday and the bus was escorted by scores of North Texas law enforcement officers in squad cars and on motorcycles.
The procession up I-35 was about two miles long. Overpasses all along the route were lined by saluting officers and firefighters and by civilians waving the Stars-and-Stripes.
The ground-breaking ceremony begins this afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
