After losing its fight in the State Supreme Court to end drive thru voting in Harris County the GOP coalition that filed the original suit is now taking their argument to Federal Court.
Houston attorney Jared Woodfill is filing the suit to stop Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins from a voting process they believe violates Texas election law.
The Harris County Republican party contends that cars are not legal polling places according to Texas Election law. Woodfill represents the Harris County Republican Party and conservative activist Dr. Steven Hotze.
"We were hopeful that the (Texas) Supreme Court would hold Chris Hollins accountable, but only one justice did," said Woodfill. "And so now we move to another forum, the federal court in an effort to try to prevent this illegal conduct from occurring."
