Hazmat crews responded Friday morning to the Dallas Immigration and Customs Enforcement office after a suspicious package was reported, but authorities later determined there was no threat.
Dallas Fire-Rescue said its hazmat unit was called to the ICE facility at 8101 North Stemmons Freeway around 7 a.m. on a report of an “unknown substance.”
Shortly before 9 a.m., Dallas police said the response was prompted by a suspicious package that it had been examined and cleared.
The same ICE office was the site of a deadly shooting in September.
Authorities say 29-year-old Joshua Jahn fired into the building, killing two detainees and wounding another. Jahn was later found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the roof of a nearby building.
