Four people, including three children, were killed in a head-on collision in Wise County on Tuesday, authorities say.
The Department of Public Safety said the accident involved a tractor-trailer and an SUV and happened around 6:30 a.m. on FM 1810 at County Road 1340, east of Chico.
The Superintendent of the Chico School District, Randy Brawner, released a statement revealing two of the deceased were elementary school students at Chico Elementary. In response, counselors are on campus to support students and staff.
The woman who died has been identified as 32-year-old Brandy Nicole Price. A third child was also confirmed dead at the scene. On Wednesday, the Texas Department of Public Safety identified the three children as 10-year-old Skyla Price, 8-year-old Gracie Mullins, and 3-year-old Avery Mullins.
The tractor-trailer driver was identified as Mark Clark Jr., a 41-year-old from Runaway Bay, Texas. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Texas DPS said Price pulled out to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone when she ran into the truck. The SUV caught fire and all four passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
