Representation MATTERS... not just in media, or in fashion... but in important industries that support our daily livelihood, like the medical field.

This week, kids in the DFW are getting to see firsthand how Medical students who look and sound like them are making an impact.

The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth is hosting a free, weeklong Latinos en Medicina Camp-- or Latinos in Medical-- for Fort Worth and Tarrant County children.
These medical students will teach and mentor Latino children ages 10-13 about health care.

Dr. Taylor Benavides joined the KRLD Afternoon News to talk more about the ongoing camp happening this week.

He shares with Kristin Diaz and David Rancken how the hands-on experience really provides a gateway to exploration into the world of medicine.
