A hearing on the motion to remove the judge from the Aaron Dean murder trial is set.
The motion to remove Judge David Hagerman from the case will be heard June 23rd in front of Appeals Court Justice Lee Gabriel.
Dean is charged with murder in the October 2019 shooting death of Atatiana Jefferson.
His defense team asked Judge Hagerman to voluntarily recuse himself, arguing that his demeanor towards them will prevent a fair trial; but earlier this week, Hagerman refused.
The motion has caused yet another delay in the long-delayed trial.
Dean's lawyers are planning on calling at least a dozen witnesses during next week's hearing.
