Highland Park High School grad Matthew Stafford is a Super Bowl champion after the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday night in Super Bowl LVI.
Stafford led the Scots to the UIL state title while he was in high school and won three bowl games at the University of Georgia, but spent the first 12 years of his NFL career with the Detroit Lions. years before going to the Big Game in Los Angeles.
Stafford was traded to the Rams before the 2021 season and helped Los Angeles to a 23-20 win over the Bengals Sunday.
Super Bowl watch parties were organized all over Highland Park Sunday -- and it seemed everyone had a story or two to tell about Stafford from Little League and Pee Wee football all through his Scots career.
