Lace up and get ready to glide - this holiday season, Dallas-Fort Worth is alive with a collection of pop-up ice skating rinks offering everything from downtown date nights to family Fro-yo and festive fun under the lights.
At the heart of the action is the brand-new CultureMap City Rink at Main Street Garden in downtown Dallas (1902 Main St.), running from November 26 through January 5. Skating sessions are 75 minutes and include skate rentals; regular hours are Monday–Friday 4 p.m.–10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.–10 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m.–8 p.m., with expanded hours during school holidays.
Meanwhile, other standout locations around the region include:
Skate the Square in Frisco, November 21–January 5, getting set for its 15th year with an outdoor rink amidst light shows and holiday market vibes.
Peace Plaza Ice Rink in Grapevine (815 S. Main St.), opening November 22 and running into early January in the heart of the “Christmas Capital of Texas.”
Coca‑Cola Classic Christmas at Dallas Midtown, featuring an Alpine-themed rink plus snow slides, light displays and family attractions, open November 21–December 28.
Galleria Dallas Ice Rink beneath the 95-foot indoor Christmas tree, offering a classic holiday skate experience and scheduled special events like figure-skater performances and fireworks.
Many of these rinks also host themed nights such as Date Skate Wednesdays, Movie Nights on Fridays, and “Shop + Skate” weekends. The downtown Dallas rink’s on-ice lounge – the Après Chalet – provides a warm spot for spectators or skaters to take a break with food, drinks and good company.
Quick tips before you go:
Check each rink’s website for the latest session times, ticket pricing and rental rules — some require advance bookings.
Bring warm socks (required) and plan for cooler outdoor temperatures.
Beginner skater? Arrive early and consider weekday sessions for fewer crowds.
Parking and transit vary by location: downtown Dallas has nearby public transit (DART), while suburban rinks may require driving and parking fees.
Expect weather or scheduling changes; confirm closer to your visit.
Whether you’re planning a romantic date, a fun outing with the kids, or simply want to check another festive item off your holiday checklist — the ice is ready and waiting across DFW.
