A convicted robber from Plano is going to prison for decades.

Prosecutors say 28-year-old Matthew Corey Taylor of Plano was part of a home-invasion robbery crew that broke into a man's home on December 31st of last year.

Police reports show the suspects forced the victim into the closet at gun-point while they robbed the place. The victim told police he recognized another member of the crew who was a woman, and when police identified her they were able to identify Taylor.

Police arrested both suspects and found several stolen items at their house.

Taylor was convicted of aggravated robbery and sentenced to 30 years in prison after the jury heard of his criminal history and considered the facts of the home invasion.

“This career criminal committed 15 crimes in just 6 years, and served time in both federal and state prison, all before breaking into a stranger’s home and holding the victim at gunpoint," said Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis. "The jury’s sentence will keep Collin County citizens safe from him for the extended future."
