A big announcement from one local University. The Texas Woman's University (TWU) System Board of Regents this week accepted a record $15 million gift from the Doswell Foundation. This is the largest, single gift in Texas Woman's history.

The money will lay the groundwork for a new aviation program and it's goal is to address an ongoing industry-wide pilot shortage as well as giving greater access to one of its most underrepresented groups: women.

Chancellor Carine Feyten with Texas Women's University joined the KRLD Afternoon News to discuss how this amazing opportunity will offer a local avenue for women looking to enter into a high paying career.
