Hundreds of DFW flights cancelled or delayed due to extreme cold Wednesday

Winter weather has started as early as Tuesday morning, and airports are experiencing multiple delays and cancellations because of it Wednesday.

As of noon, 139 flights in and out of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport are canceled Wednesday and another 540 are delayed. DFW tops the nation today when it comes to flight scheduling issues Wednesday.

Over at Love Field, five flights are cancelled and 63 are delayed as of noon.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, a travel alert has been issued by American Airlines allowing customers traveling to and from Dallas-Fort Worth affected by the winter weather to rebook their flights without change fees.
