The move to create a massive ICE detention facility in Hutchins is no longer possible.

The real estate company that owns the building said they have not and will not enter into an agreement for the purchase or lease of any building to the Department of Homeland Security.

Dallas County Judge Clay Lewis Jenkins says even the logistics alone made it unreasonable.

"Hutchins is a very small town with limited water and sewer and this would have absolutely crippled the economic development there," Judge Jenkins said. "There simply would not be enough water and sewer to continue developing."

Majestic Realty said they are grateful to the city's mayor and the city itself.

In a statement the company said they look forward to continue working to find a buyer or lease tenant that will help drive economic growth.
