Interstate 30 through downtown Dallas will shut down again this weekend as crews continue work on the long-term Canyon improvement project, the Texas Department of Transportation confirmed.

Weather permitting, all east- and westbound lanes between I-35E and the I-45/U.S. 75 interchange will close Friday at 10 p.m. and remain shut through Monday at 5 a.m., with signed detours routing traffic to the Spur 366/Woodall Rodgers Freeway.

TxDOT officials urge drivers to plan ahead for significant delays and avoid unnecessary travel in the area, especially after recent winter weather and ongoing ramp closures nearby.

The weekend shutdown is part of the $888 million I-30 Canyon corridor improvement project, a multi-year rebuild of the downtown stretch aimed at modernizing aging infrastructure; overall completion remains scheduled for late 2030/early 2031.

Residents and commuters can find the latest travel updates and future closure schedules at DriveTexas.org.
