An iconic view in Downtown Dallas dealing with the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy is becoming impossible to recreate because of a tree that has grown significantly over the last few years.

Tourists and researchers who want to climb on top of the cement block used by Dallas businessman Abraham Zapruder when he filmed Kennedy's assassination November 22, 1963 are finding the view completely blocked by growing branches from a nearby tree on top of the infamous Grassy Knoll.

"It needs to be trimmed back," said one of the many people who come to Dealey Plaza for the November anniversary. "If this is a National Historic Landmark and you want it to look exactly the way it did 62 years ago, then you got to trim these things back a little bit so they don't obstruct views."

Another man walking around Dealey Plaza traveled to Dallas from London and said he sees people trying to recreate Zapruder's view only to be disappointed.

"Just have a little bit a foliage in the way, it seems like such an easy problem to solve," he said. "You can see just walking around here, people stand up there and they get disappointed."

KRLD has reached out to the Dallas Park and Rec Department to determine if there is any plan in place to clean up that section of Dealey Plaza and to check if they are even aware of the concern. We are still waiting for their response.
