An Irving motel is a big, soggy mess from yesterday's fire that gutted the Comfort Inn on Highway 114 near DFW Airport.
Drivers on the freeway noticed the flames and smoke at about 5 p.m. and the fire eventually reached four alarms.
Because of smoke blowing across the freeway, police closed down the east-bound lanes of Hwy 114 near Freeport.
The Irving Fire Department is working with the motel management to determine if all the guests and employees are accounted for. But it may be later today before they can be sure.
