Irving police announced Thursday that they caught the man who went into a business, approached a woman who works there, and sexually assaulted her.

It was Sunday at a business near 183 and Esters Rd. Police had a video of the man walking into the business. At the time he was wearing a hat and a mask and police only knew that the suspect was male, white, and in his 50s. Police said he forced the woman into the backroom before he assaulted her.

On Tuesday evening, police found out that the man they were looking for was 70-year-old Patrick Hoversten of Sonoma, California. He is a truck driver and believed to be in the Laredo area. Irving PD announced Tuesday that they have a warrant out for his arrest.

Later in the week around midday Thursday, Irving Police announced that they captured the guy with the help of the Tyler Police Department. Tyler PD found the guy in their city and arrested him in Smith County Jail. Hoversten is now awaiting the transfer from that jail to Irving's jail.

Public records also show that Hoversten has had an extensive criminal background since 1975. He committed crimes ranging from multiple felony charges to multiple indecent exposure.

Police have not release the identify of the victim yet or where exactly the crime happened within the building.
