Bishop T.D. Jakes shares an update one week after he collapsed in the middle of his Sunday service at The Potters House, his southern Dallas church.

Jakes shared a video update this weekend. He says he was rushed into emergency surgery last weekend, which he said was for a life-threatening incident.

He said anyone who looks at him is "looking at a miracle"...though he didn't specify exactly what happened to him.

A week ago, Jakes, 66, had just delivered an impassioned hour-long message when he appeared to show signs of distress while praying. Staff members quickly assisted him offstage.

In a social media post that very same Sunday night, Jakes’ daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts, provided an update, assuring followers of her father’s condition

"I'm so grateful that he's already beginning to improve and I think it's just a reminder, going into this holiday season, to love on the people who you hold near and dear," she said.

Jakes told his congregation he looks forward to worshipping with them in person again, though it's unclear when he'll return to his church.
