As democrats try to flip the U.S. Senate seat in Texas in the upcoming November Midterms, the two likely candidates to end up with the nomination are doing some last-minute campaigning ahead of the March 3rd Primary Election.
State Representative James Talarico is touring the state in the final days leading up to the March 3rd Primary. He says if nominated, he's very optimistic on his chances in winning in November.
Talarico must get through the primary for the chance to take on Senator John Cornyn, Attorney General Ken Paxton, or Congressman Wesley Hunt. His main opponent is Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett.
Crockett says her strength is that she's a fighter for Texans, and her resilience has played out in this campaign.
She is up by 12 points over State Rep James Talarico according to the latest UT Austin poll. 56 percent to 44.
KRLD's Eric Bushman spoke with State Rep. James Talarico earlier this week and KRLD's Chris Fox spoke with Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett.
