Former Flower Mound State Senator Jane Nelson has now been formally confirmed to be the Texas Secretary of State.
Last year, Nelson did not file for reelection in the 12th District, ending a 30-year career in the State Senate.
In January, Texas Governor Greg Abbott appointed her as the 115th Texas Secretary of State.
Her confirmation on Wednesday was considered a foregone conclusion because Nelson has had long-standing good relationships with most of her fellow Republicans and most of the Democrats in the State Senate.
