In Washington D.C., four Texas Republicans have been selected to chair key US House committees.
Fort Worth's Kay Granger has been tapped to chair the influential House Appropriations Committee.
Granger represents the Texas 12th congressional district which includes Wise County, Parker County, and the western half of Tarrant County.
Also taking chairmanships are Lubbock's Jodey Arrington who now chairs the Budget Committee, Michael McCaul of Austin will be chairman of Foreign Affairs and Austin's Roger Williams will chair the House Small Business Committee.
By virtue of the Fall mid-terms, the GOP takes control of the House in this new Congress and one of the perks of that control is naming the chairs of House committees.
