
Born in Fort Worth and graduating from Burleson High School, Kelly Clarkson, the very first American Idol winner, will make a little more history tonight by hosting the NFL Honors award show.
The NFL Honors features the announcement of awards like The Associated Press annual accolades, the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year and the newest Pro Football Hall of Fame class leading up to Sunday's Super Bowl.
Clarkson who is now a talk show host for NBC is the first woman to be chosen to host the program.
Three one-time Cowboys are finalists including safety Darren Woodson who played for Dallas from 1992 to 2003 and who played on three Super Bowl winning teams, linebacker DeMarcus Ware who played nine seasons for the Cowboys and who also won a Super Bowl but with Denver.
Also a finalist, linebacker Zach Thomas who played one season for Dallas in 2008.
The show begins at 8 p.m. Texas time on NBC, Peacock and the NFL Network.
