Kemp ISD canceled classes Friday due to a surge in flu and other illnesses, officials say.
With a significant number of students and staff out sick, the district said it could not operate effectively. While schools are closed, crews will conduct a deep cleaning in an effort to reopen by Monday.
The closure comes amid a wave of illnesses sweeping North Texas. Last week, Godley ISD also shut down for three days due to high absentee rates caused by sickness.
