Two years after a young mother was murdered in Haltom City, one of the two teenagers who killed her has been sentenced.
Police say Zakariya Marshall was 14-years-old when he and another teenager beat and stabbed Uber Eats delivery driver Ryan Graham, leaving her to die in the breezeway of an apartment where she was dropping off food.
Marshall was certified to be tried as an adult but his friend was not, so that other juvenile is doing seven years in the Texas Juvenile Justice system.
But Marshall, now 17-years-old was facing a capital murder charge including the possibility of the death sentence. He ended up pleading guilty to the lower charge of felony murder and was sentenced to 45 years with eligibility for parole coming after 22 years.
Ryan Graham died at age 31 and left behind three young children.
