Long time KRLD legal analyst Ed Klein died today from complications from a recent surgery. He was 64.
Klein was a staunch defender of First Amendment issues such as freedom of speech and expression. He was a fixture on KRLD, often called on to break down complex legal issues into an understandable explanation, often with only minutes before a deadline.
In 2019, Klein spent more than a week on the air, breaking down the testimony and legal rulings during the murder trial of former Dallas Police officer Amber Guyger.
Klein graduated from the Baylor School of Law in 1981. In recent years he scaled back on the amount of time he spent on law, instead focusing on his second love, making guitars in the back of his Carrollton law office.
Klein is survived by his wife, Robyn and five children.
