Lake Worth police have completed their internal investigation into a deadly police shooting in September.
Early on the morning of September 3rd, Lake Worth police chased a car with three people in it to Fort Worth where it crashed. The three men inside bailed out and ran for it. Two of them got away and have not been found.
The third was shot by a Lake Worth officer who said Fort Worth resident Estevan Ramirez had a handgun. He was rushed to JPS where he died in the Emergency Room.
With the internal investigation, the case will be presented to a Tarrant County Grand Jury for review as is standard in any fatal officer-involved shooting.
Meanwhile, the officer who fired on Ramirez resigned earlier this month.
