Two people are facing criminal charges in Lake Worth. Police say they believe the two men could be connected to more than 30 organized retail theft cases.
Police originally tried to pull over a car with 30-year-old Christopher Bivens and 27-year-old Terrence Parish on Tuesday. Lake Worth police say the car led officers on a brief chase, which was followed by a foot pursuit before the two were taken into custody.
Inside the car, police say they found nearly 250 stolen items. They believe the two suspects are tied to more than 30 theft cases at stores across the DFW area.
"The Lake Worth Police Department has taken an aggressive approach to dealing with Organized Retail Crime," said Lake Worth Police Chief J.T. Manoushagian. He said the arrests "send a strong message to criminals who may consider targeting retailers in our community."
The department is asking anyone who may have information about other cases possibly connected to the suspects to contact detectives at LWCID@lakeworthtx.org or by calling 817-237-1224.
