The superintendent of the Lancaster ISD is out following a board meeting last night.
The Lancaster ISD Board of Trustees voted last night four-to-three to fire Superintendent Elijah Granger and to rescind his $2 million contract buyout.
During last night's meeting, Board President Marion Hamilton said the move is in the best interest of the cash-strapped district.
Last month, the board agreed to the $2 million buyout less than two weeks after giving Dr. Granger a five-year contract extension. That drew the attention of the TEA, which has launched an investigation into the matter.
At this time, there's no word on why the board is firing Granger.
