A Lancaster woman is warning about finding a toxic plant growing in her alley, identified as Poison hemlock.

Like a scene out of Shakespeare or ancient Greece, hemlock was apparently growing in Kenzie Kizer's alley. She writes in a Facebook post that she was uprooting what she thought was a line of weeds when she had a toxic reaction. Arms feeling like they were on fire. Tongue swelling. Speech slurred.

It got worse. She fielt dizzy, shaky. Feeling confused. Chest tightening. Struggling to breathe.

She hurried to a local hospital and she says they confirmed it was hemlock poisoning.

She was told hemlock can kill a person or pet in just three hours. Believe it or not, Texas A&M says hemlock is in the same family as the garden variety carrot.
